Hi

We use Symantec Backup exe 12.5 and ATL M1500 Quantum Tape library for backing our Data. The other backups runs sucessfully.

Only the user Documents  backup fails after running for 30 minutes.

I double clicked the failed job history and below is the error report.

Error category    : Resource Errors

      Error             : e00084f8 - The network connection to the Backup Exec Remote Agent has been lost. Check for network errors.
                                                 For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-34040

Iam  new to backup exe please let me know how to trouble shoot this.

Hi

Please look for Antivirus setting to exclude the backup exec directory from Antivirus scan. Ensure BE 12.5 is fully patched up too

Its bit surprising for me . The exchange backup works well but only othere 3 server backup are failing.

one backup had failed after running for 6 hrs

second backup after for 30 minutes

third one after 3 hrs

I have not done  the checks as per the above http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH89277

I will do that tomorrow and will post results.
