Unable to Format Tape Media

Dear All,

I am using Symentic Veritas Backup Exec 12.5 D. We are using Quantam LTO2 tape drive for Backing up data. But I am unable to format tape Media in this software. When I try to formate the media it show formate is not highaled.

Please Help me in resolving this Issue.

Hello,

Go to the Media Ta-->Right Click the Tape and click on Full Erase.

This will format the media.

I did that. But why the formate option is not enabled..........

restart your services and try again. Are you able to post a screen shot if you're able to do so AFTER restarting your services?

Some devices don't support the FORMAT function.  Or you may have a partially corrupt driver. 

double check the manuals to verify that your device does indeed support format, and/or load the latest Symantec driver pack
