Unable to start Remote Agent BE 12.5

Hi All,

I am unable to start Backup Exec 12.5 Remote Agent on machine.

While starting the client service "Service On local computer started and stopped" message is displaying.

Under publish tab of Remote Agent utility "Unable to obtain settings for publishing from registry" alert displayed.

Please help....

On Windows Machine. The same is the backupexec server also. Server service running.

Under the publishing tab, add the media server to the list of machines to publish to, then restart the remote agent service.  Alternatively, push out the remote agent again.

The publishing window is disabled like...

Can't Edit/Add anything in that....

Any registry key needs to be edited?

Click on the Change Settings button and it will be enabled.

Uninstall the remote agent and reboot the server and install the remote agent again.

yep... Got the resolution from Microsoft forums...

As my event log is full for this application (Backup Exec), the service failed to start.

I cleared the event log and tried starting the Remote agent service, it came up.

Automatically publish button shown the media server's list...

I think this button is not present in the older versions of BE.  The best option is to uninstall the remote agent and push out the remote agent again from the media server.

Change Settings button is present in the Publish Window.

But whenever Remote Agent service stops, change settings button also disappears.
