Dear All,
We have problem in Backup Exec 2010 R2 SP1 when we backup VMWare Virtual Machines (VCenter 5 and HW version 8)
The Snapshot process fails and CPU Usage become 100% on Servers (Isass.exe process reach to 99% on domain controllers)
We tried :
We tried to
run post-thaw-script.bat on server (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH129724)
reinstall virtual machine tools then reinstall backup exec agent
Delete BeVssProvider and VSS GUID provider registry keys (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH169462)
use Microsoft shadow copy provider.
Your assistance is highly appreciated

I would recommend to update to Backup Exec 2010 R3 first !
Also install all available hotfixes, hotfix 164220 will add support for vSphere 5.

R2 does not support ESX 5 - in fact R3 only does with latest patches, as such ZeRoC00L's answer is NOT a recommendation it is a requirement.

Thanks a lot.
I will proceed with R3 and let you know.
Thanks again

Unfortunately upgrading to R3 didn't make difference... is there anything else that you may suggest?

Are you able to manully take and delete snapshot properly from snapshot manager.
make sure you dont have old snapshot left behind in snapshot manager for all vm's
Also have you updated R3 agents on all VM's
