Verifying backup data

Hi,

When a verify operation is completed on a tape from Backup Exec, does it guarantee the integrity of the media and the data on it or is it only the data copied.

Is this even an option still in BE 2010?  I cannot find it at all.  It is so frustrating finding out of date documentation on Symantec Products.

Is the option 'write checksums to media' already included in the verify process of BE2012 as there doesnt seem to be seperate option in BE2012.

...read pg. 389 and pg. 1290 of the BE 2010 Admin Guide. The last page refers to the checksum check in SQL though...

zak: the only mention in the BE 2012 Admin Guide refers to SQL as well (pg. 720)...

Checked out pg.720 of BE2012 Admin Guide..refers to a different topic ( not sure if there is a different edition perhaps). Attached is what i see in my admin guide.
