Veritas 9.1 - falling over

I use Veritas 9.1 in conjunction with Exchange W2k standard edition, periodically the nightly backup freezes at the same place ( 647,348 bytes). Does anybody know of a bug with V9.1 and of a cure.

When you say "in conjunction with Exchange" I'll assume you are doing a malbox backup.

if that is the case, yes, you should apply Hotfix 47 found on the Veritas updater.

This wouldn't be the night after a restore has been done would it?

The first backup stalling/hanging after a restore is a known problem. There is a HotFix, but it has been rolled into SP2 http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/275247.htm

Hello Nick,

If you have installed SP2, please ensure that you have also reinstalled all the remote agents on all remote servers, so that the remote agent version matches that on the media server.

Please let us know if the issue has been resolved after applying SP2, and that we assumed the scenario aptly.
(backups after a restore).
