Hi everyone,

I've been looking on the Symantec website for the pass 3 hours looking for the following:

1. What is the max number of Backup to Disk folder can you create?

2. What is the max recommended number of Backup to Disk folder can you create?

3. What is the max number of scheduled jobs can be run at the same time?

4. What is the max recommended number of scheduled jobs can be run at the same time?

BE 12.5 installed on a IBM x3650 with 8gb RAM. Plenty of HD space.

Thanks

Yung

Here are your answers:
1. There is no limit on number of backup to disk folders you can create.
2. No recommendation either, depending on the performance of your server and the disk size.
3. You can run any number of scheduled jobs, it depends on your RAM which might affect the performance. We do not have any technical upper limit to that also.
4. Again, recommendation would be dependent on various factors like local resources, network and remote machine's performance.

You may also want to check some white papers also for more details:

Please mark it a solution, if this is useful.

To expand on Hermant's answer to #3

You can run as many concurrent jobs as you have devices availalbe.  When writing to tape, this is the number of tape drives.  when writing to disk, this is a combination of # of B2D folders and the # of concurrent accesses to each folder.

if you run concurrent jobs to three B2D folders on different physical volumes you would obviously have  better performance than three folders on the same volume   or to the same B2D folder |8^)
