Instead of SDR if i backup my C drive and system state , Will it be okay to recover my BE during a disaster ?

Thanks,

Nayab

Hi, That would be fine to recover the server. Any other application installation directories/critical files and folders would also be required. You would then simply follow the usual MS server recovery procedure. Thanks!

The screenshot is not an error. It is the initial dialog screen to create a SDR boot disk which is needed to reviver a server using SDR. If you want to use a particular back to recover a server, make sure that the SDR light above the selection list is on. Backing up the C: drive and the system disk is sufficient to recover a server in most cases, but if you install some critical component on another disk then this would not be sufficient

Would recommend to have a good read at this KB which explains the SDR process:-

Also BE 2014 SP1 and later does support SDR of WIndows 2012 R2 (as SP2 is available suggest you install that)
