Hello 

i have a Back up exec 2012 and on 2008 server R2 i execute 4 save to 4 server

1 save has passed but the ohter failed 

when i verified the home of back up server 2012 I see 

Avertissmement tape alert  the memory of the tape cartridge is defective thereby reducing performance

please i need your help

Are you using symantec drivers for your tape drive?  see  http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO73431  

Please copy and post the exact alert you are getting.

1) try cleaning your tape drive

2) replace the defective tape.

for information i have Hp LTO 3 Ultrium 920  and 

i m using 5 tape drive "1 tape for 1 day "

i try cleaning and replace the defective tape 

but nothing change i have this information when i insert the tape

Is your new tape a LTO3 tape, or is it LTO4 or higher?  A LTO3 tape drive cannot write to LTO4 or higher tapes.
