after migrating form oes10sp3 to oes11 the linux account
be_admin no longer has rights to /media/nss/folders and its subdirectories
root account on oes server sees all of the files mode 777
from be_admin account the command ls
returns
ls: cannot access USR: Permission denied
beoper group etc still intact
what is the recovery process? is this a known problem
thankyou

OES 11 is not supported. See page 37 of the SCL below
BE 2010|2010 R2|2010 R3 Software (SCL)
Your previous version is supported.

Regarding the issue of be_admin user not having permissions, it seems to be a linux user issue after you upgraded/migrated to OES11 from OES2 . You may want to delete be_admin user and recreate a new user belonging "beoper" group , also you will have to give permissions to be_admin to access your NSS folders. But as pkh already mentions OES11 support will not be available.

We ran into this same problem. Now that it's too late to change everything I found a work around for now. If you replace your /etc/novell-release file in OES11 with one from OES2 you will be able to backup your NSS volumes. Just remember to restore your OES11 version of the file afterwards because it's needed for proper patching of your server.
