I would suggest, delete all devices in question from the devices tab. Do a power recycle of server and library and after reboot, check if the device is online. Also, check event logs, for any indicators to some problem with the hardware. Ensure that the devices are visible in the device manager and you have symantec drivers installed for tape drives.

Thanks

Hello,

Check the following KB:

No dice. I even powered off/on the HP and evected/reinserted the tape. The backup to disc job works fine just not to tape. Here's the error when I just try to backup 1 file per the KB suggestion:

Note that when I stop/start the Device & Media Service that the HP 1 (under Stand-Alone Drives) goes Offline. Does that help or mean anything?

So should I delete the Backup to Disk device even though it works fine? At what point do I add the devices back, after, or before the reboot?

No errors in Event Viewer other that what I've posted, and no hardware errors.

After you upgrade to 12.5, did you re-install the Symantec drivers for your tape drive?

No, do not delete disk devices, only tape drives which show offline. They should reappear on reboot.

Thanks

That appears to have worked, thanks.
