Hi,
I am getting the following error when running the jop.
Final error: 0xe00084f9 - A communications failure has occurred between the Backup Exec job engine and the Agent for Windows
I installed the agent and updated it to the latest version. I also checked the logon accounts and reset all the passwords however the MSSQL server credentials test is always failing although the credentials are 100% correct.
I am facing this issue on more than one server having the MSSQL server in the selection list. Note that this issue occured after upgrading from backup exec 2010 to backup exec 2014.

Have you rebooted the servers after updating the remote agent ?

...do your backups complete successfully?

yes and i restarted the backup exec services as well. The job is stuck on discovering resources.

Please note that in the job log it is showing that the remote agent is not installed although it is already installed and updated to the latest verssion.

1. Are all the services on the media server started?
2. If so, try repairing the BEDB using BEutility.exe.
3. Are the remote agent services started on the remote servers?
