Hi all,

ther is a strange problem since i upgraded 2010 R3 to 2012. Every night a new server is discovered and visible under "Backup and Restore". It has the name from my Windows 2008 R2 Cluster.

Is there a possibility to stop this discovery?

It has nothing to do with the option "Discover Data to Back Up". This option is disabled.

Thank you all

Oliver

It's probably remote agent publishing from the nodes of the remote agents in the cluster. Bear in mind normally we need a reccord of the cluster virtual name to achieve valid backups of cluster resoruces so this record might actually be needed for something.

Hi Colin,

it's possible to exclude this virtual name in the remote agent?

For example in the registry or a exclusion file?

If you can it wil be via the remote agent utility on all nodes of the cluster. I don't have a cluster to check and if it is something deemed critical to getting backups of cluster resources then you will not be able to disable it.
