not able to restore VMDK file on network shared folder in EXEC 2010 r3

hi All,

 

i am not able to restore my VMDK file backuped up earlier to a network shared folder.

i go to vmware redirection and given path there but still getting error.

can you please help me to get out of there.

This appears to match an old known issue you have to restore to a local or SAN attached drive on the media server  (I am not sure when we fixed this but I don't think it the fix was against 2010)

If you are redirecting the VM to a non ESX/vCenter, then the redirection can be done only to the local media server itself.

error message is : Not able to create the disk file at the destination given.

 

even i have also checked the credentials.

In fact we appear (at leats in BE 2010 and 2012) to have documented it as a limitation - see:
