old Catalog files

I have using Veritas backups now for over a year on my backup system.

I am running out of disk space on my boot drive. What happens if I were to delete the old .U01 files. I would like to be able to restore old data still.

You can set BackupExec to "trim" the catalogs in two steps

First delete catalog details for catalogs over xxx days old, but remember the jun date and backup header for each tape.
Second, delete the catalogs over xxx days old


or you can manually just delete the U01 files. If you do this, you will need to inventory and then catalog your tapes before you can restore
