problem in Append and Overwrite protection period

Hi

I have BEWS 9.1 Rev 4691. Recently I have been facing problem with Media set.

I use PV122T autoloader. I assined a media with a media set and the the overwrite and append period settings of the media were correct. Then the job failes with following errors.

Backup Exec Alert: Device Error
(Server: "BCVHS-DATBK01") (Job: "HQVHS-DBBKP01-FriN-Set 2") The drive hardware is offline!

The following error was logged in event viewer
Faulting application bengine.exe, version 9.1.4691.0, faulting module bengine.exe, version 9.1.4691.0, fault address 0x000ac564.


After these error messages the media became not appendable and overwritable. I had to erase the tape and had to rerun all the jobs.

The problem occurs very often nowadays. Can anyone please help.

OS : Windows 2003 standard edition.

Please perform a repair installation of Backup Exec and verify results

if the issue persists then check if there and any event ids in the application and system log
Also launch the sgmon (located NT folder) and then start the service and paste the contents of the log

The problem is solved by resintalling the Autoloader drivers.
