symantec backup exec 2010 R3 available, but is suitable for sbs 2008?

Hi everybody!,

in the past, we had installed by one customer the  "symatec backup exec 2010 r2 sbs 2008" edition.  We had received the mail notification about the new backup exec 2010 r3 version available for downoad. So with the licence key of our customer we had acces to the fileconnect of symantec, in order to download the product upgrade. But after the login we found the only product available the the licence key of our customer is "BACKUP EXEC 2010 R3" without any other reference. So my questions are now:

1) can i upgrade existing 2010 r2 sbs 2008 version to 2010 r3?

2) is there a speciale 2010 r2 sbs 2008 version to download for the sbs 2008 enviroment?

3) where can i download this version?

I need your help before proceeding in upgrade in order to avoid big problems....

-Yes. You can upgrade directly by running the installation of BE 2010 R3 on top of BE 2010 R2 on the same server.

2) Is there a speciale 2010 r2 sbs 2008 version to download for the sbs 2008 enviroment?

-No there is no special version. Same software can be used for installation.

3) where can i download this version?

- Goto www.backupexec.com and check the Trialware box on the right side which will guide you to download the BE 2010 R3 software. Also as you can download from fileconnect site. Download the completed ISO file which is around 3 GB.
