Hello,
i have started upgrade from BE12.5 to BE 2012. When upgrade operation riched "Migrating backup exec database" i got the message the the backup exec database did not complete succesfully... and so on.. I had the option for roll back or continue. This error is posted at http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=tech181977. I have choosed continue and the install wizard compelet succesfully.
Accorting to the http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=tech50537 i could manually upgrade the database from a previous version. I did everything as decriped id article, and everything was succesfull, but at all i cound start BE services (BE server servicfe fails to start).
OS version is win2003 std 32 bit
Please Help :)

When BE server service fails to start what error message is displayed on the screen.
Could post the error message from the Windows Event Viewer

Hi,
Has your SQL Express service for BE started up successfully?
What happens if you do the following:
1. Open a command prompt & browse to your installation directory.
2. Run bemig.exe
Do your services start up now?

BE media device and media server, BE error reocrding server BE renote agente service are started.
BE agent broweser service, BE joj engine service and BE management service couldn't started with error 1068, The dependency service or group failed to start.
i gues that dependency servise is BE server service.
when i tried to start BE server service, i got the message thaht service was started and than stopped.
event viewer messeges are:
Event ID 57804: The Backup Exec Server Service detected a schema version mismatch.
Event ID 57802 The Backup Exec Server Service did not start. An internal error (-536813108) occurred in object 1.

i did bemig.exe as you said. result is: Status Message:
Catalog Schema 12.5
Status Message:
CleanupDBForReIndexing: SchemaUpgrade failed.
still can't start the service

Note: Do make a copy of the DATA folder before proceeding with copy database.
