6.0 SP3 Exchange Journaling w/ error "Restoration of the item has failed"

Hi there,

I am now working on an exchange journaling and when I tried to restore an item by using search.asp. A message "Restoration of the item has failed" popped. I could succesfully restore items after the installation. But suddenly I found that I could restore anymore.

When I went though the event viewer, I found another error message as follows:

The EnterpriseVault.DirectoryConnection object reported an error.

Unspecified error

Do you have a Mailbox Archiving task and is it running?

Did you check the permission on the Shopping Basket folder? Is it running on local drive or on a network share?

1. Can you restore using searcko2k.asp?
2. Have you ever been able to restore? When could you last restore and what has changed since?
3. Can you setup a dtrace of the shoppingservice and w3wp processes and attempt a restore and send us the contents.
4. Check the IIS log and look for the request and at the end of teh request what is the IIS code given?
