After running the provisioning task, no new mailboxes are EV enabled

Hello,

we're running EV Version: 11.0.0.1470 on Windows Server 2008 R2

I'm trying to activate new mailboxes for archiving. After running the provisioning task and choosing the file store, no new mailboxes are showing in the list.

"There are no new mailboxes that can be enabled on this server".

This is definitely wrong.

Help would be much appreciated

Best regards,

Daniel

Could you check if these Mailboxes are already enabled for Archiving.

We could run a Disable Mailbox wizard to check the enabled mailboxes.

If still a concern, share the provisioning task report with the sample users.

Running the "disable mailbox wizard" doesn't show the mailboxes I'm looking for. So, they are not enabled jet.

There is an entry in the provisioning log for my users:

"Mailboxes on Exchange Server [xxx] that have entries in the Enterprise Vault database but which are not in any provisioning group:

.../cn=123 (state = new)
.../cn=456 (state = new)"

Thanks in advance and beste regards

Check SQL if the respective entries are present in the ExchangeMailboxEntry table in the Enterprise Vault Directory Database.

If so,

-Put the Enterprise Vault server in Backup mode
-Take the Backup of the Directory Database
-Delete the corresponding records from the ExchangeMailboxEntry table
-Clear the Backup mode
-Run Provisioning Task again

Be sure that you run the SQL operations under the supervision of a SQL Admin.

Did you synchonize the Exchange server via the Archive Task?

Yes, Tony, we did. The problems occurs only on one of our 4 servers. Before we facing the SQL Database, we'll try a simple reboot of the machine.

Thanks and best regards

Hi dheinrich,

The message from the provisioning report means that you need to review the provisioning group settings. Make sure that the Exchange mailboxes are part of a provisioning group.

If you are using an AD security group, AD OU or a LDAP query as a target, verify that the users in AD are member. In addition, you can add the users directly as a targets under the provisioning groups settings. After that, run the provisioning task again and review the report.

I hope this helps.

are the mailboxes hidden? If they are, they cannot be enabled.

No hidden mailboxes.

The users are members of a AD security group.

Let's see,  if the reboot solves the problem...

It works, the reboot changes nothing. It took just some time, nearly a week, after new mailboxes showing up.

Why does this took so long?

Best regards

Check if provisioning task is in report mode.

Next:Run deployment scanner. Check if your VSA has exchange permissions set correctly
