Archive email from 1 exchange to another

I have exchange 2003 in both domains, these domain are completely separate.

I have two domains one called (example) domain1 and the second called domain2.

Can I have Enterprise Vault in one domain archive all the mail from one exchange store then connect the vault store to the other exchange server in the other domain without loosing information?

I would need to archive emails from jdaniels on the first exchange server and then reconnect the archived email to jdaniels1 on another domain on a different exchange server.

What version of EV?

Are the 2 domains in the Same forest, could they be in the same forest?

Are you moving the mailbox from 1 server to another? So archiving from on exchange, moving the mailbox to the new server and the archiving from the new server?

If you are in the same forest then you will setup two archive task (One for each Exchange server).

Please answer "R Meeker's" questions are they are relevant to your question.

Could you please state exactly what you want to do?

From the information I have, I don't think this is possible.

Hi All,

The exchange servers are in completly different domains and cannot be added to the same domain. (not even in the same forest).

we have changed to another exchange server in a different lcoation so I thought if i set up EV on the current exchange and then archive all email to EV. I will then connect the EV up in the new domain and re-link archived mail to another users account in another domain.

This is the story.

We have just been moved to a new Exchange 2007 server after a buyout.

We currently run Exchange 2003 in a separate domain, oldcompany.com for example.

We want to migrate user mailboxes to the the new Exchange 2007 Server on the newcompany.com domain

We want to avoid migrating all mail to the new server, Symantec have said this is possible, but then again that was a sales guy, and he may not have been aware of separate domains.

EV version will be 7.5

SQL 2005

Server 2003 R2

What options do we have for a migration. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I think the only way this is possible is doing an export of archives in the old domain and import the archives in the new domain.

We may have a tool which could assist you in this process.
