Does anyone know if you can use Selective journaling with multiple Distribution lists?

My boss would like to see if we can create a DL for each compliance department so they can manage the users in there instead of us(IT) worrying about it.

Also, if it’s possible what’s the limitation? How many Dl can selective journaling file contain?

Yes you can use selective journaling as long as each DL has its own SMTP address.

Not sure on the numerical limit. One for VMWare I think!

Can you nest the dl's instead? Create 1 dl and then put all the dl's that you need to selectively journal into that dl so that you only have to specify 1 dl in your filter.

This may probably be easier in the long term since if you need to create another dl that you want to selectively journal, you just nest it into the dl that you specified in e-vault and will not need to change the filter.

Exchange journaling will expand recursively nested distribution lists.
