DA Client for Windows 7.

Hello all,

Happy new year!

Is the DA-client (80SP2) suitable for Windows 7?
I have found it is not, but this is perhaps an settings-issue?

The client does work on Windows XP, so the configuration of the databases and DA-server appears to be fine.

On windows 7, I get a message saying there are no instances to connect to.

Anyone an idea?

thanks.

I found a document on the EV DA document site this week, that describes the issue.

The fix was to uninstall DA, reboot, install DA.

Issue caused by upgrading EV (which we did, from 7.5 to 80sp2 then sp3).

DA-client 80SP3 now works on Windows 7

There is a file that you need to configure to point it to your AD server

Find the AcceleratorClient.exe.Config file in the directory where the Client was installed

Near the end of the file there is a section <add key="AcceleratorServer" value= "name of your DA server" />

Put in the name of your DA server between the last quotations and then retry to open the client. It should connect to your DA server and then present you with the dropdown list of your Client databases

I'm running the client on Windows 7 and have no issues

Hi Scanner,

I'll try that.
Exactly which DA-client are you running? I'm upgrading our EV environment to 80SP3 this weekend, now running SP2

Thanks for the hint.

I checked the config-file. It already has the correct entry in it. Same message. I assume it has something to do with firewall, grouppolicies, or some other disturbance of the os..

I'll do some further checking.

Thats weird because i'm running it with the windows FW enabled and set to normal and also running under our corporate GP and it still works

Try logging into the PC as a user with local admin rights and see what happens
