Delete items on a Centera partition.

 Hello,
We plan a migration of our Vault partitions on a Centera ( right now we are archiving on San disks).
before the migration I'm testing all the functionnalities that still need to be present when we archive on Centera.
Yesterday I tested the delete function as our user are allowed to delete from their Vault.
Unfortunately in my divers client ( web or outlook add-in)the deleted items still appear BUT when I try to open it them I receive the message that the item was deleted from  Vault.
What should I change in my configuration that this Items doen't appear  in any of my clients as they are not present  in the archive anymore ?
I'm using EV8.0 SP1
Thanks for you help

Did you ever upgrade from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005?
There was a bug which is may what you are seeing now:

Can you clarify how and where you deleted the item, I am a little confused from yuor description.  It sounds as if the shortcut is left behind but the item is deleted from vault.  If say you deleted from another location other than Outlook or OWA then the shortcut will be left behind and you will need to configure shortcut expiry to automatically delete items like this. Check out the admin guide and the section below.

Shortcut deletion

The Enterprise Vault Exchange Mailbox Archiving task performs shortcut deletion.

You can define separate maximum ages for shortcuts in users' mailboxes and for

shortcuts in public folders.

To set up shortcut deletion

1

Exchange mailbox or public folder policy is visible.

In the Administration Console, expand the hierarchy until the appropriate

2

Right-click the policy. On the shortcut menu, click Properties.

3

In the policy dialog box, click the Shortcut Deletion tab.4

 Hi Michel,
Thanks a lot for your answer. And yes we were upgrading our SQL db's .
So Ill try the described procedure on my test domain and see what happens.

And " the don" sorry but I forgot to mention that when we archive we don't create any shortcut but we let the original item in the mailbox.
Which makes that to check if an items is really deleted from the Vault I only have the web interface at my disposition.
I'll try Michel idea and I'll post the result.
Thanks to all of you
Regards
