Delete mailbox from EV

Hi

We are running EV 7.5.

We currently have a situation where we have 2 seperate environments which users sometimes move between.  When a request comes in for a user to be moved between environments we follow this process:

  1. Export all emails from the users archive back into their mailbox
  2. Disable the mailbox for archiving
  3. Remove the user account from the provisioning group
  4. Allow the provisioning task to run
  5. Delete the users archive
  6. Delete the users AD account and mailbox from Exchange.

Is this the correct sequence of events?  I ask as after all this has happened we still get the following error when the provisioning task runs:

"Mailboxes on Exchange Server that have entries in the Enterprise Vault database but which are not in any provisioning group:"

We then have to go into the SQL database and remove the entries for the user manually.  Is this expected behaviour?

Thanks in advance

Keith

Hi Keith,

In between step 4 and 5, do you sync the mailbox? Does that help?

Hi GJ

Between steps 4 and 5 the provisioning task runs, a directory sync and the archive task.

Thanks

Hi KeithG

Yes this is expected behaviour as explained in the following tech article:

hope that helps.
