Deleteing Archived Items

Hi

I have just enable the facility in Enterprise Vault for users to delete mails from their own archives. I notice that when a stub file is highlighted and the red X clicked to delete the mail then it asks you if you want to delete the archive item as well as the stub file, however, if you right clickl on a stub file and say delete you are not given the choice as to what you want to delete, has anyone come across this problem, if so what is the cure

You should still have full Outlook functionality.  Suggest you raise a support call, as this is very unusual.  If you want help here, then we'll need a lot more information.

What version of Outlook?

What version of EV Client?

Have you ever created a client trace?  If so, replicate the issue with a client Trace.

You can control the deletion behavior using the Default Exchange Mailbox Policy. Access the properties, click on the Advanced tab, in the "List Settings From" dropdown select "Desktop", scroll down and locate the "Shortcut Deletion Behavior" option. You can choose from the following:

Shortcut Only - Deletes the shortcut only and leaves the original message in the vault.
Both Deleted - Deletes both the shortcut and the archived message.
Ask User - Prompts user with a dialogue box and provides the option to delete the shortcut only or both the shortcut and archived message.
