Hi!
I´m planning for a upgrade from 9 to 10, and installed the Deplyment scanner that comes with ev 10 on the ev 9 server (single EV). But when I start the deplyment scanner I get an error saying: The program can´t start beacuse mfc90u.dll is missing..
I have asked mr. google, and symantec kb but no luck.

just as a matter of interest, can you even find that file?

you can install this package btw
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=15336
EV normally installs it for interoperability, its basically the different support files from Visual Studio needed to run projects and what not

Thanks for the imput. Did an install of the package. But same error. Do you think I need to restar the server ?

Out of curiosity, what OS is the server?

well i would see if you can findthe dll first of all, i mean it could just be that the PATH doesn't include System32 or something weird

2008 std R2

Well, I find the dll on 3 places. not System32. Sould the dll be in the system32 directory?
01-04-2012 07:28 AM
i dont think it could hurt to copy it but for what it's worth, i dont have it in system32, just in winsxs

Same here..

sorry yeah it should be in the WinSxS directory, but just try copying it to the deployment scanner directory

I did that, and when starting deployment scanner I get a error for another dll file. So I did a copy of that file also, think it was msvcr90.dll. Got a error for another dll (msvcp90.dll), so another copy of file to the deploymen scanner directory.
When I try to start D.S, I get an error that the dlls´s are loading in a wrong way (sorry do not have the error message in front of me any more)..

What does the Environment Variables look like? Is the WinSxS directory there?
01-09-2012 12:20 AM
Nope, no WinSxS there. How should the correct Enviroment Variable look like?

I would install the x64 & x32 redist reboot and try again.
