Is there a way to refine the criteria within the search results?  I have results, but now I need to search by a large list of recipients or senders.

Why did I have a feeling that you would ask that? ;)

Configuring Effective Litigation Searches with Discovery Accelerator 6.0, 7.0 and 7.5.

You should also bookmark this link which contains the one above:
"Listing of Symantec Enterprise Vault (tm) 6.0, 7.0, 2007 and 8.0 Manuals and links to the respective TechNotes"
http://support.veritas.com/docs/277782

Some  things for you to consider though...
The 8.0 version of the document has been updated regarding some of the base concepts so you should still look at that doc and if there is any similar content then then 8.0 version would be the better version to follow.

Also, If you want the enhanced features provided in Discovery Accelerator 8.0 (such as the Analytics features mentioend above) you will need to upgrade at least Discovery Accelerator.    Discovery Accelerator 8.0 is supported with later service packs of Enterprise Vault 2007 so if upgrading your core Enterprise Vault server(s) right now is not an option then you could just upgrade Discovery Accelerator to v8.0 to get these enhanced features.  Please look at the Compatabiity Chart (in the "Listing of Symantec Enterprise Vault (tm) 6.0, 7.0, 2007 and 8.0 Manuals and links to the respective TechNotes" technote above for a link to the Compatability Chart.

If you are using Discovery Accelerator 8.0 then consider using the facets in the review interface and/or the "Searching within a Review Set" functionality provided when you enable the case for Analytics.

Enabling a case for Analytics in Discovery Accelerator allows for the following 3 major features to be used:
  • Automatic Categorization – see chapter 6 – “Using rules to mark and tag items automatically” of the DA 8.0 SP3 Admin Guide for more details.  Here is a relevant snipit:
  • Conversation Analysis – see pg 117 – “Finding all items in the same conversation” of the DA 8.0 SP3 Admin Guide for more details.  Here is a relevant snipit:
  • Searching within a Review Set (aka ‘Search within a search’) - see pg 133 – “Finding all items in the same conversation” of the DA 8.0 SP3 Admin Guide for more details.  Here is a relevant snipit:
“When a case has been enabled for analytics, the filter area at the left of the Review pane provides additional options with which you can conduct searches of the
items in the review set. Two types of searches are available: quick search and advanced search.
    • Conducting quick searches  - Use the quick search feature to specify one or more fields for which you want to search, such as From or Subject, and the required values.
    • Conducting advanced searches - The advanced search feature lets you build complex searches that comprise multiple conditions. Unlike quick searches, you can save advanced searches for reuse.”
