EV 10 - Move files

JohnKnittl

We currently archive users home drives.

We want to move x-staff home drives out of EV , is it just a matter of moving the files from EV throguh windows explorer.

Will this remove them from the Vault ?

Thank you

You want to delete a bunch of items that were archived by File System Archiving correct?

If you have seperate archives for each users directory, you can just delete the Archive from Enterprise Vault and that will remove all the Files archived via FSA.

Otherwise you would have to do the following
1. Configure your FSA policy to allow "Delete On Delete" so that when you delete a shortcut, it deletes the archived item
2. Run FSAUtility to restore all the shortcuts back to the original locations
3. Delete all the shortcuts newly created and it will delete the archived items

Otherwise you'd have to wait for the items to expire and be deleted by Storage Expiry or manually delete the items via Archive Explorer

Theres just no real intuitive options unfortunately
