Hi Guys,
I am designing an implementation plan for a Exchange 2003 hardware refresh. We are going to be migrating mailboxes using the Exchange migration wizard and decommissioning the Server once all mailboxes and backend services have been moved.
Our Exchange environment consists of a single front-end Server and a single backend Server.
So my questions in a round about way are:
I hope this makes sense :)
Many thanks,
Matt

As long as the new Exchagne server is in the same Exchange org you should have no problems at all. Just create the new archive task pointing to the new Exchange server. As the mailboxes are migrated the EV provisioning process will recognize where they are and continue to archive them from their new server location. The existing shortcuts will migrate with the mailbox and continue to function.

Set registrykey SynchInMigrationMode to make sure it goes all well.
Check the registry.pdf for exact location and value.

Thanks for the info chaps!. I've tracked down a very useful article which details the use of the reg key.
