Hello,
We've just upgraded from EV 8.0 SP 5 to EV 9.0.4.
We mainly do Exchange mailbox archiving, but we also do some file share archiving.
Before the upgrade, users could only see the mailboxes to which they had access in the drop-down "Vault" field of the search interface.
Now, the drop-down list also contains the name of every file share archive as well, even if they can't search it. Plus multiple ".etc" entries.
How to do we hide the names fo the file share archives like before the upgrade please?
Thanks,
- Alan.

At some point you probably edited archives.inc in the "Enterprise Vault\Webapp" folder. You want to find the section "ArchiveTypes = 2045" and change the number to 1917. Then archive explorer to not show file archives. The upgrade will have overwritten the archives.inc file which will have the default ArchiveTypes = 2045.

Hello Alan,
Can you check the permissions on the shares? These permissions are synced to EV. If (for instance) you have the 'all users' some sort of 'view only' permission on the rootfolder of the fileserver, and that propagates down, all users will see archives.
As far as I know...

Yes, we'd done that and forgot it. Thanks! Much appreciated.
