EV upgrade to 8.0.3 - Mailboxes disabled

After upgrading to Ev 8.0.3 which went well with no errors, all mailboxes were disabled for archiving.  I have re-enabled them and all is working well.
But can anyone shed any light on why the mailboxes were all changed to disabled and if there is any underlying issues?

No errors in Event logs.

In all my years of supporting ev I have never ever heard ofthat before I suppose you could look through the transaction logs and see where the archivingstate change what were your pre upgrade and post upgrad steps? And what did you upgradefrom? I think if your provision groups get blown away users won't archive but they don't get disabled from memory

Ev 2007 SP2.

I located an errror in the Event log and I did find that the Vault service account didnt have read permissions to the whole Ex2007 org?
I can only think during the upgrade because the provisioning task had errors it disabled the mailboxes?

It might be possible.
Although unlikely. It might however be that the policy/provisioning group settings have not been upgraded properly. They should upgrade as is, but it might happen occasionally that a setting gets ' lost' .

If you fix the rights (view-only administrator, and set the rights as described in the manual), check provisioning and policies, then rerun provisioning, then sync mailboxes, you should be good to go again

Well without the proper permissions ev couldn't disable the users any way because it ness to modify the hidden message n the users mailbox may just remain a mystery I suppose
