EV with Hitachi AMS 2500

We plan to deploy EV soon and use SAN storage on our Hitachi AMS 2500. Our AMS has both SAS and SATA drives. Our plan is to use the SATA drives in RAID6 for the vault stores only. Items requiring the higher IOPS, like indexes and SQL would go on the SAS drives.

Is anyone else using the AMS 2500 with EV? I know this array is fairly new so I am just curious about your experiences both bad and good.

With the AMS we do have the ability to create mega LUNS. Is anyone using this feature with EV? If not how are you handling larger vault stores typically larger than a standard LUN size?

Cheers,
Bruce

I think the AMS 2500 is no different than other storage.
You need to get the I/O's trough, and have enough space.

I personally would not do "mega LUNS" (sounds like very big luns... > 2 TB?) because, think about what happens when Windows does a checkdisk on it... You will be down for hours!

Instead, create multiple smaller ones (I think about 500 GB?), and create Vault Store Partitions to distribute the content.

Just my 5 cents.

Cheers
