EVOM - The account you are using does not have permission to access..

I have configured EV 10 in Exchange 2010 SP1 environment.

The EVOM can be accessed from the EV server using http://localhost/monitoringWebApp/Default.aspx. However, when I try accessing the EV server from another network machine using http://IPAddress/MonitoringWebApp/Default.aspx it fails - Operations Manager: access denied.

The account you are using does not have permission to access this page in Enterprise Vault Operations Manager. The user account must be assigned to an appropriate administrator role.

I have checked the settings - what am I missing?

Thanks

What account are you using?  Have you added that account to a role via Roles Based Administration?

I guess it's because you are using the ip address rather than the DNS name of the target server.

Have tried both - no different!

Did you try adding your account to an appropriate role?  Can the account you are using open the Vault Admin Console?

With the proper permissions you can access via ip address or dns name.

Check the auythentication settings on the MonitoringWebApp VD in IIIS. It should be set to IWA so if you are trying to access from a server not in the same domain then you need to use the IP address. From the Admin Guide:

Note: Any user other than the Vault Service account must be assigned to a suitable role to access Operations Manager. Users can view only the tabs and tables in Operations Manager that are applicable to the role to which they are assigned.
