Enabling mailboxes for archival - Lotus Domino

Hello,

We have got a new EV 10 server setup for Lotus Domino 8.5.2 FP2 archival. When trying to enable mailboxes for archival, we get a failure "Error Enabling Mailbox, Unknown Failure". I went through couple of tech notes, but they are not applicable. Running dtrace, give me few errors as below, I would appreciate if you can throw some thoughts around this..

1. The provisioning task completes with few exceptions as below,

"

I definitely looks like and ACL issue to the mail file with the archiving id.

Have you verified that the archiving id has the appropriate ACL's on the mail files that you are experiencing this on?

It's attempting to write  a profile document to the mail file and also add some hidden views to the  mail file as well.

What you can do is from the EV server shut down the archiving tasks.

Open up Lotus Notes with the archiving id and attempt to open those mail files and write to them.

The archiving id that EV is using is can be determined by opening up the VAC.

Site=> Targets=> Domino=> either under the properties of the Domino Domain

Or if you have specified another id for each Domino Target you can drill down a little further and expand Domino Server and each individual target properties.

Hope this helps.

I totally agree with Jim, if the archiving id does not have permission on the newly created mail file and running provisioning task definitely generate warning event 41288.

Check the provisioning task report and you will find those users ID list.
