Enterprise Vault 8.0 SP2 release date?

Hi I'm looking to setup a new enviroment with SQL 2008.
It says in the latest compatibility list that the support for this one will be in EV 8 SP2

When will SP2 be out?

Also, has anyone tried EV 8 with SQL 2008?

 It will be out very early in July - or thats the current plan.

SP2 is scheduled for July, hopefully the 1st ;-))

EV8.0 (no SP) with SQL2008 is not supported by Symantec. It MIGHT work, but if something goes wrong, you will be on your own, ie will not receive any support from Symantec.

We'll be upgrading to EV8.0SP2 (hopefully SP3) in september, then move to SQL2008 in october.

For what it's worth, I 'm running a test server running EV8 SP1 with SQL 2008 and have had no issues so far.

What  about running the EV Databases on SQL 2008 in 2005 compatibilty mode ?Would Symantec support that ?

No

It's pretty clear in the Compatibility Guide.
SQL 2005 suppored, SQL 2008 = NOT supported.

Just to reiterate we will not support SQL 2008 running in SQL 2005 compatibility mode either until EV8 SP2.

I was wondering with EV8

When I ran through the documentation there is no mention of running exejc for the bcc distribution lists for exchange 2003

is this still required?

I know I had to for ev2007

I run SQL 2008 64bit and it runs fine.  However, I did run into minor configuration issues w/the reporting but was able to resolve by following the docs.  It's not supported, however, I was able to place EV in BU mode and move the database w/minimal effort to a 2005 SQL just incase I needed support.  But have since moved the install back.  2008 was a clear choice and I have been supporting SQL for awhile which ramped up my push over 2005.  There are new ways to perform old task in SQL 2008 that SQL 2005 did not offer.
