Can you clarify what you mean by this:
Also will create new EVSITE.

Hi,
If you are creating a new site, then you should perform a move archive from one site to another and not a SQL database move. Could you please clarify a little bit more?

Hi All,
Sorry for delayed reply.
Query. 1
My DIrectory Database resides on SQL 1 server. Other EV Database resides on SQL2 Server.
Planning to Move Directory Database to SQL2.
Query 2
After Moving Directory Database from SQL1 to SQL2 server there will be no dependency on SQL1.
Is it possible to change the DNS Aliase or create EVSITE so that both EV servers will work independently.
Pls suggest.

means new site?

Can you have more than one "site" in a single EV environment (1 DirectoryDB), yes.
If you can be more specific as to what you are trying to accomplish then we can be more responsive in the best way to do it.

We have moved Directory Database from SQL1 to SQL 2 Server.
SQL2 Server now has All Databases associated with it
Directory,Vault Store Group and Fingerprint.Monitoring.
Is there any way to if i create DNS(CNAME) NewEVSite and point to EV server 2.
pls suggest.

Hello,
If you just moved the Enterprise Vault directory database to consolidate all the databases in one SQL server, you just need to follow Step 5c from technote TECH35744:
How to move the Enterprise Vault SQL databases
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH35744
Step 5C – Update the Directory database in the Registry
This step is performed on the Enterprise Vault Server.
1. Click Start > Run, type regedit and click OK.
For 32bit systems, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\KVS\Enterprise Vault\Directory\DirectoryService.
For 64bit systems, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\KVS\Enterprise Vault\Directory\DirectoryService
2. Double-click the SQLServer Name string value.
3. Enter the name of the new SQL server in the value data field and click OK.
4. Start the Enterprise Vault Directory Service, this will also start the Admin Service.
However, creating a new EV site is a totally different process. I hope this helps.
