Enterprise Vault File System Filter Driver (EVFSF)

I'm using Enterprise Vault 7.0 SP1 and attempting to use FSA in a cluster environment.  It seems like the Enterprise Vault placeholder services gets installed on both nodes of the cluster and reboot both nodes several times.  On Node 1 everything seems and acts as it should.  Node2 waits until the group is failed over.  Once you fail over the group, the resource for FSA failed to start witht he event id 20484 Enterprise Vault File system Filter driver not installed.  The driver is present with the same version of the file as it is on Node1.  You can fail the group back to node 1 and no problems.  I have a case open with Symantec and I since send a Dtrace log from both nodes during the failover of the group.

if anyone has seen this please post a reply

cheers

basically you're removing and reinstalling the clients.  1st you need to remove what currently there and reboot without any errors, and then reinstall.

cheers and see below

  • Uninstalled the FSA clients on both nodes via the Enterprise Vault admin console
  • uninstalled FSA Agents via control panel.
  • reboot node 2
  • failover the resource groups from  node 1 to node 2
  • reboot node 1,
  • failover the resource group to node 1
  • reinstalled the FSA Clients and configuration of FSA in Cluster Mode
  • Reboot node1/node2 and EVFSF was loaded ok
  • failover group over to cluster2 and all resources online.
  • Failback the group back to cluster1 and resources online.
  • Enterprise Vault FSA Cluster configuration tested OK.

Sorry about the delay i was away on holidays.

good luck...
