Customer is using Symantic Enterprise (FSA) for file server archiving.

 If they use the3 VNXw 3000 for file system only, (no server front end), can they connect Enterprise Vault to VNXe file system and run archiving?

what kind of filesystem does it use? i'm guessing CIFS and SMB?

It will end up being a URL shortcut and not a regular FSA Shortcut that you would get with NTFS for instance.

Meaning that when its shortcutted, it will remain as a URL file, and not be recalled, you will have to open the item and save it to disk to have it recalled outside of using FSAUtility

Yes, VNX is suppported with placeholders for FSA. See page 56 of the latest SCL. Needs to be running DART 7.0.12 or later.
