Hello everyone,
My environment is Currently running ev 10.04.
Users mailbox are allocated by quota from the administration console. We use windows backup for our enterprise vault together with a a prebackup and postbackup script after archiving.
Mails archived are backed up. From users outlook it resduces to the 4KB, but storage quota allocated to individual users in enterprise vault is growing.
What might possibly be the cause? Is there a way i can reduce the storage and not constantly increasing users quota so as to accomodate new mails?

also you don't have single item retention/legal holds on the exchange mailbox do you?
because that will keep a copy of all changes to messages, so you'd have the original item and the shortcut etc

are you saying you have setup quotas in EV? you would have to find a balance between retention/expiry of the items you're archiving and the mailbox sizes. otherwise sure, you keep archiving data and the user archives will grow. it's really a shell game (with dedupe and compression at the final resting place for the data) if you know i mean.

We found single item recovery makes the database double, if not triple in size.
