Before I escalated this to Symantec, I wanted to post it here and see if anybody had seen this before in their environment. I get the following message anytime an archiving run is made on one specific mailbox.

Could not scan user mailbox /o=Company/ou=First Admin Group/cn=Recipients/cn=JDoe, cannot list messages

The only thing which strikes me as different with this mailbox is that we imported some PST's from a previous firm into the mailbox. However, we do that all the time and this is the first and so far only time we've seen this error.
