Event ID 4183, EV services stop 3-4 times a day

Environment - EV 8.0.2-Windows 2008 /SQL 2005sp2-Windows 2003

We have recently imported around 300GBs of PST files (converted from nsf archives) into our vault. A short while after, I have been receiving a ton of event id 13360 and 6796, which eventually lead to id 4183 and all services stopping.

I saw some articles regarding a hotfix, but it was related to EV 8.0.3. Not sure what else to check. Backups appear to be running fine, the events start popping up during the archive process. http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH75282&actp=search&viewlocale=en_U...

So far I have checked the SQL DB to make sure the maintenance jobs (db backups, truncate transaction logs) have been running, no issue there. Not sure what else to check.

Would it be a good idea to upgrade to sp3 and apply the hotfix? Or go straight to sp4 and update the upsi_saveset?

Event 13360 An error was detected while accessing the Vault Database 'EVVSFirstStorageGroup_1' (Internal reference: .\ADODataAccess.cpp (CADODataAccess::ExecuteSQLCommand) [lines {1388,1390,1405,1423}] built Jul 3 19:52:25 2009):

Event 6796 A COM exception has been raised. <0x80040e14>

Would be a good idea to go to SP4 directly.

It's recommended to stay on a current version most of the time.

Is there anything to check for the time being? I have to schedule upgrades in advanced.

Thanks,

If the errors match up with the hotfix for EV8Sp3 etc I would say 8Sp4 is the best bet. Make 100% sure in updates.htm that the hotfix made it into 8sp4 though, as on some occasions a HF could be produced for 8sp3 and not quite make it into the rollup of the next SP.  Also I think Sp5 is out now... so probably even better.

Update

Found that the Windows Firewall had been enabled. Disabled the service, errors went away.

Dunce cap is on, I will be in the corner
