Hello,
I wonder if anyone with experience of using the FS Analyser tool would mind sharing thier experiance on how fast/slow it is per GB and by number of files to analyse a file system.
i.e. xx Files/hr or xxGB/hour
I'm looking at using in anger and know this will be the first question asked.
(Fully apreciate network speeds/storage speed etc all have an influence, its simply a yard stick of performance of the tool I need, most of the time goign to SQL.)
Thanks in advance,
Mike

i've actually had really good results with this tool. i've analyzed dozens of windows file servers with tens of millions of files in a single day. some of the servers were across the WAN too. just make sure to use a good sql backend and not do the hash checking because that will bring it to a crawl.
