EV8 SP4. The permissions on all the archives are also blank. The server team keeps telling me the permissions are on the file server. Thoughts? Ideas?
What permissions need to be there on the file server so that they are reflected in AE?

how are you opening Archive Explorer? If you open via Outlook then it will purposefully not show AE items.
But really if the permissions are blank then that would be the issue.
Do the actual shortcuts retrieve properly if you try and open them? Also what do you see if you look at it via C:\Program Files\Enterprise Vault\PermissionsBrowser.exe ..... do you see any permissions being listed here?
Also what is the storage type that you are targeting? NFS? CIFS? NTFS? Cellerra? NetApp etc?

We are strickly FSA, archiving from NTFS. Recalls work just fine. PermissionBrowser also shows no permissions. I am curious why the permissions are not coming over to EV from the file servers.

The archives themselves are showing no permissions, but the folders do have some info in the View Permissions window.

ok, other question is are you targeting a share or a drive?
i.e
\\serverName\Sharename or \\serverName\E$\FolderName\
You may just need the reg key to sync Share permissions across

Just followed Tech Note 55846 and changed the Dword SynchroniseFSASharePermissions to 0, restarted the admin service, resynched and now the archives show up in AE.
