Hardware Requirements - Real life experience?

We are configuring one box for EV and one for SQL to vault for Exchange2003 and eventually Exchange2007. We will have approx 800 users on the Exchange server and users running Outlook cached mode/Offline Vault. 50% users using RPC/HTTP. Estimating approx 2TB of archived materials older than 90 days.

Should we give EV more processor power or SQL? What have people seen out there?

I am running 15,000 on one MSSQL 2005 Enterprise with 2 procs and 4GB ram.  It's only supporting journaling though.

Unless someone has seen something different, I would always suggest giving EV the horse power because EV is not using SQL as the search engine it uses Alta Vista. Also don't forget that all document rendering is happening on the EV server as well.

Just my thoughts, if someone has had a different experience I would like to know.
