When we search the journal via the searcho2k.asp it has a drop down that appear to be the indexes. There are about 7, each with different dates. However if I use the service account and search via the admin console this does not occur, and it will search the entire journal.
When we were on 6 SP3 and earlier we saw this issue with the journal and all the mailboxes. By time we got to SP4 the issue was resolved. We had to rebuild the journal indexes and then this issue returned.
Any thoughts?
