Well there is a requirements guide that descirbes requirements for the solution and an upgrade guide that discusses supported processes for upgrades. Is that what you are seeking?

Hi guys,
many thanks - I know these documents. I did some upgrades of EV 11,12,14 but I didn't upgrade OS of Windows. So, some information about preparation of OS ( compatibility, framework version, saving certificates, IIS setting, MSMQ ) I have. But example - some troubles with permissions in DCOM during update or need to edit LOCAL Security policy..... I had in history and therefore I am lookup for details .....

I normally set Windows Server XXXX up on a new system and then move to this one. Its easier to rollback, especially with DNS Alias.
If you have no other way, then probably you will have to:
but I would recommend the first.

Hi
its may be good idea if system is simple. We have very much special environment 1. more changes in registry in EV HKLM and also out of EV HKLM, 2. we have configured more certificates on this server, example Office 365 SMTP connector, Merge connector, next EV node connect, Discover Accelerator, security 3. SQL security setting ( other SQL port, no SQL browser, disable name pipes, ....). 4. NFS security port/access to Infoscale. And more next security improving. Transfer this EV server to new server is not simply. :) but it is possible. :)

Hello PetrHanz,
Although upgrading the OS is possible, I don't recommend it. I understand from your description that moving to a new fresh installed server is going to be 'difficult but not impossible'. From experience, upgrading the OS gives some strange issues in the future. A fresh install, configuring according to your specs, and then moving EV will save a lot of troubles later down the line.
good luck..

^^I agree with Gertjan,
I did an Inplace upgrade only one time, because the customer wanted it.
I have not done it again after this time.
quality > convenience
it saves a a lot of nerves.
