Placeholders to another location

Having and archived item( a dvs file), Is there a way to create a second placeholder of this file?

What I need to do really is already-archived items from one physical location to another in a regular basis using as less as possible network bandwidth.

Or, Does anybody suggest an alternative way to accomplish this? Replicating the placeholder would recall the original file before copying it to the destination.

Just to be clear here...are we talking about replicating vault stores (the actual dvs files), or are you talking about replicating file system archived shortcuts (aka, placeholders).
