Restore Archived items.

Hi.
 
we are experiencing problems with the restore buttom.
 
We are able to open archived items without any problems, but if we mark some items and press the restore from vault button, the Icon changes (The icon with the "clock"), and noting happens.
 
If I restart the messing queueing service after a minute the users are able to restore archived items again.
 
Normally this is not a problem, but one of our customers need to restore a lot of items.
 
Nothing happens in the event viewer.
 
Anyone got any suggestions where to start look for the problem?
We are using Enterprise Vault 7.5

Do you have MSMQ excluded from your Anti_Virus scanning software?

We don't have any antivirus software installed on the Enterprise Vault servers.

I don't think it's an AV problem.

Does restoring a single Item work?

If it first hangs, no, I'm unable to restore one email.
 
I'm able to open it, but not restore it to the mailbox.
 
If I restart med messaging queue service, I'm able to restore one by one, or a lots of emails in one operation.

This is strange behaviour.
Have you already rebooted the Server?

Archiving is not a problem, I suspect?

Would it be possible to leave a message in the "hung" state?
I suspect that there should be an Eventlog entry after some hours...

If I reboot the server it works for a while. I'm not sure for how long, but I suspect this is happening about once a day. (the helpdesk does'nt tell me everytime..)
 
 
I'll have a go next time and leave it for a couple of hours and see if the "problems solves it self and gives me an event error.

Are there items listed on the r1 and r2 msmq queues when the problem occurs?

I had a look on the MSMQ's now and I have a lot of messages in A5. about 24.000,- most of them on one exchange server. (we have 3 backend servers).
 
On one of the servers there is 12 messages in the R2 queue.
 
And 1 message in the A6 MSMQ on one of the server.
There is also 15 messages in the Enterprise Vault Storage Restore queue.
 
 
If I refresh nothing happens, should'nt these numers be processed..?
 
For some reason the Enterprise Vault Task Controller services also stops ones a day. (Is that normal?)
 
When I started the EV Task Controller server, the messages from R2, and the one message in A6 dissapeard., but noting on the A5 or in the Enterprise Vault storage restore queue.
 
I'm not able to restore from Enterprise Vault. After each email I try to restore, the Enterprise Vault Storage Restore queue increments by one.

Please do the following.
 
Reset the VSA password above the site properties. Use the same password, just type it in again.
 
FYI,
This will restart your services and reset DCOM permissions. More important, I want to see if you can reset the password without receiving and error.
