Upgrading EV FSA to latest version

Hi,

I need to upgrade EV 2007 FSA to the most recent version of EV FSA ( which is I think version 9 ?). While the upgrade is been done will there be downtime for people accessing the documents that are archived? or when EV services are stopped?

Is there any caveats to know about for the upgrade process?

Thanks

Install and run  the 9.0.1 deployment Scanner on your existing EV server and it should pick up your existing file archiving targets and then tell you if there are any additional requirements.

The upgrade process will require a few steps

You need to upgrade from EV 2007 to EV8

Then from EV 8 to EV 9 SP1

During the upgrade the users will not be able to access any data in the archive or any item that has a placeholder on the file servers

You should also upgrade the FSA agent on the file servers (if used)

Thanks Scanner001,

Is there anything that needs to be done before the upgrade, or is it just a matter of running the setup and it will just reinstall/upgrade the current files?

Thanks

As gmackin said run Deployment Scanner first as it will verify your .NET versions and so on to ensure that everything is in place for the upgrade.

Deployment scanner comes with the binaries of the EV install
